If you're new to cooking with Boursin cheese, this recipe is a fantastic way to start. The cheese melts beautifully into the orzo, creating a rich and creamy texture without needing heavy cream. I like to add fresh zucchini for a little extra color and nutrition, but it’s completely optional. One tip I've found helpful is to use a good quality chicken or vegetable broth, as it really boosts the overall flavor. If you prefer a vegetarian version, stick with vegetable broth and ensure your cheeses are suitable. For added freshness, consider garnishing the finished dish with a little extra lemon zest or chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil. It brightens up the flavors nicely. This bake is also quite versatile. You can easily swap the zucchini for mushrooms, spinach, or even sun-dried tomatoes if you have them on hand. Serving it with a simple green salad and crusty bread makes a complete, satisfying meal. Lastly, don't rush the baking time—letting the orzo fully absorb the broth ensures you get a creamy consistency rather than a watery bake. This dish truly shines as a comforting and impressive meal, especially when you’re short on time but want something homemade and delicious.
