Spiced Beef Pasta Shells Fiesta
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 pounds lean ground beef
3 garlic cloves, minced
Freshly cracked black pepper
1 tablespoon Sazon perfecta seasoning
2 cups medium pasta shells
1/4 cup olive oil
4 cups vegetable broth
2 tablespoons granulated chicken bouillon
4 tablespoons granulated tomato bouillon
3 serrano chiles, finely chopped
1/2 large onion, finely diced
1 can (10 oz) Rotel tomatoes and green chilies
1 handful fresh cilantro, chopped
Garlic powder, to taste
Onion powder, to taste
2 packets Sazon Goya con Culantro y Achiote (red Sazon)
1 bay leaf
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with minced garlic, a generous amount of black pepper, and Sazon perfecta seasoning over medium heat.
While the beef is cooking, heat olive oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Add the pasta shells and sauté until golden brown, similar to toasting rice for Rice-A-Roni.
Once the ground beef is fully cooked, drain any excess grease and transfer the beef to the skillet with the browned pasta shells.
Add the vegetable broth, chicken bouillon, tomato bouillon, serrano chiles, diced onion, Rotel, chopped cilantro, garlic powder, onion powder, Sazon packets, and bay leaf to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
Cover the skillet and cook on medium-high heat until the pasta shells are al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 15-20 minutes.
Remove the bay leaf and give the dish a final stir. Serve hot, garnished with extra cilantro if desired. Enjoy this vibrant and flavorful Mexican-inspired pasta dish!
