Just me doing things that make me feel me again

In 2018 I started getting a lot of muscle pains and aches. Kept ignoring them because.. I’m just getting old. Fast forwards to 2019 I started creating personalized tumblers as a side hustle. But all of the sudden my arms would go numb whenever I used them continuously. After giving up on building my side hustle and endless drs appointments. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, depression, and skin conditions. Having to quit my job of being a preschool teacher of 20+ years I told my husband I want to start creating learning toys for young kids! And he surprised me with a laser cutter for Christmas. So here I am today! Creating and perfecting things to open a small shop. #craftedwithcare #personalizedgifts #learningtoys #crafting #lasercrafting

... Read moreLiving with chronic illnesses like fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis can be deeply challenging, not just physically but emotionally as well. From my own experience and what I've learned in the crafting community, taking the time to normalize breaks and set personal boundaries is essential. It’s crucial to listen to your body and allow yourself the grace to heal gently and grow slowly. I found that creatively engaging in projects such as making personalized learning toys helps me reconnect with my identity beyond illness. Crafting offers not only a therapeutic outlet but also a way to build something meaningful that reflects my values and passions. Using tools like a laser cutter, which my husband gifted me, opened up exciting possibilities to design and perfect educational toys for young children. This creative journey isn’t just about productivity; it’s deeply tied to emotional healing. Forgiving yourself for the times you can’t work and trusting time to bring progress helps restore a sense of control and self-worth. Remembering that everyone is on their own unique path can reduce feelings of being lost or overwhelmed. Incorporating personalized, handcrafted items into a small business is not only fulfilling but also allows others to support and appreciate the care and story behind each creation. If you’re dealing with chronic pain or other hardships, consider how making something with your hands might offer comfort and a renewed sense of purpose.
