Easy Homemade Holiday Candied Yams

No more need to bring the canned yams no one wants to eat, when you bring this to the holiday dinner you’re sure to leave with an empty pan!

Ingredients:

1/2 stick of butter or 1/2 cup

1 pound brown sugar

6-8 sweet potatoes (depending on how many people will be there)

2 packages of marshmallows

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350

2. Peel and wash all the potatoes

3. Cut into 1 inch quarter cubes (see picture for reference)

4. Place quarters into bottom of 9x13 baking pan, cut of small amounts of butter and place all over (only use half of the stick) cover lightly with brown sugar. (See picture for reference)

5. Add the rest of the potato’s on top and repeat butter and brown sugar using all of them.

6. Cover with tin foil and bake at 350 for an hour and a half or until a fork can go through potatoes easily.

7. Remove tin foil and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes

8. Add marshmallows on top and turn over to broil (DO NOT WALK AWAY!!! Check marshmallows every 15-30 seconds until golden brown and pull them out of the oven IMMEDIATELY! Marshmallows will catch fire VERY quick!)
