Should I Still Go?

My best friend invited me months ago to Mexico with her and her family. I’ve been so excited—passport ready, outfits bought, time off work.

She recently broke up with her super controlling bf (name-calling, constant accusations, picking fights). I thought it was finally over… but today she told me they’re back together AND he’s coming with us.

Now I know I’m going to spend this trip third-wheeling and dealing with drama instead of relaxing. I wanted to explore and have fun, but he won’t let her do anything.

We leave in two days and I don’t want to cancel, but I’m so upset. How would you handle this?

I’d go, but when you get there I’d tell her you were going to do some things on your own too. Dinner with them would be okay, but I’m sorry no one wants to deal with a guy who literally limits everything fun you want to do. Honestly hoping he didn’t just get back with her because of the trip.
