Rotel Cream Cheese Sausage Balls 🌶️🧀
Prep Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 24-30
Ingredients:
1 lb hot sausage, uncooked (the heart of these delicious bites)
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened (for a creamy, smooth texture)
1 (10 oz) can Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained (for a burst of flavor and heat)
1¾ cups Bisquick baking mix (for a light and fluffy texture)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for melty, cheesy goodness)
Instructions:
1. Get Your Oven Ready: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the uncooked sausage, softened cream cheese, and drained Rotel. Mix it all up until it's evenly combined.
3. Add the Dry Ingredients: Stir in the Bisquick baking mix and shredded cheddar cheese until it's all incorporated. The mixture should be cohesive but not overly wet.
4. Shape & Bake: Using your hands, shape the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
5. Serve & Enjoy: Serve these warm sausage balls while they're still nice and bubbly. Enjoy them as an appetizer, snack, or a light dinner!
Tips:
For a milder flavor: Use mild sausage instead of hot sausage.
Spice It Up: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper, chili powder, or your favorite hot sauce for a spicier kick.
Get Creative: Mix in other ingredients, like chopped green onions, diced jalapenos, or shredded pepper jack cheese for a unique twist.
