How to get iPadOS 26 before the official release!

iPadOS 26 has been quite popular. It was announced June 9th at Apples WWDC event. There’s so many exciting things coming with the update. The only thing is…it’s not officially be released until fall. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait that long!

Luckily Apple releases beta versions! So you can try iOS 26 before it’s officially released just follow the steps in the post.

DISCLAIMER: Since it’s a beta version it’s not perfect and may be laggy/buggy. Make sure your iPad is backed up before downloading it!

... Read moreIf you're eager to dive deeper into iPadOS 26 before everyone else, here’s some practical advice from my own experience. First, make sure your iPad is fully backed up—this saved me when I encountered a few bugs during the beta. To get started, sign up for the Apple Developer program or the public beta program. The developer program offers the earliest access, but requires a paid membership. Once enrolled, download the profile directly from Apple's official developer page and install it on your iPad. After installing the beta profile, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. You will see the option to download the iPadOS 26 beta. This update brings noticeable improvements to the home screen layout and introduces enhanced Siri capabilities, which I found quite impressive. Since this is a beta, expect some apps to behave unpredictably or slowdowns. However, I found the new multitasking features particularly useful for productivity, especially if you enjoy digital planning or multitasking with Apple Pencil. A handy tip: toggle automatic updates to ensure you get the latest beta patches as Apple releases them. Also, be prepared to switch back to the stable version if you encounter critical issues. Restoring from your backup is straightforward but make sure you have it ready. Exploring iPadOS 26 early gives you a sneak peek at what’s coming and lets you prepare your apps and workflow for the future. If you plan to try the beta, patience and backup are key. Enjoy the fresh features and share your feedback to help Apple improve the final release!
