everything I did in Beijing (pt 1)

6/12 Edited to

... Read moreDuring my visit to Beijing, I was particularly impressed by the intricate designs and history embodied in the architecture at the BEHING ANCIENT ARCHITECTURE MUSEUM. Although many of the explanations were predominantly in Chinese, relying on Google Translate helped me appreciate the stunning craftsmanship, especially the Longfu Temple’s caisson ceiling, which was truly breathtaking. I’d recommend future visitors brush up on some basic Mandarin or download offline dictionaries to enhance the experience without interruption. Another vibrant spot I explored was the 798 Art Centre, a hub for contemporary art housed in a converted factory complex. The galleries offered a refreshing mix of modern creativity with some exhibits being free, which made it easy to pop in multiple times. Besides art, the charming cafes and boutique stores provided excellent opportunities to pick up unique souvenirs. It’s a perfect place for anyone looking to blend culture with a relaxed day out. Food enthusiasts should not miss the offerings around Qianmen Street. Staying nearby, I sampled local delicacies such as Donglaishun lamb skewers and a traditional yoghurt dessert with a thick milk skin layer, which was a delightful surprise. HeyTea shops dotted the area providing a modern twist to traditional tea culture. Strolling along the bustling street, I found it enjoyable to explore the mix of historic sites and lively markets like Hehua Market. The lakeside location of Hehua Market adds a charming ambiance while shopping for souvenirs and enjoying riverside dining. Overall, my first part of Beijing adventures combined rich cultural heritage, artistic expressions, and authentic culinary experiences. For anyone planning a trip, consider dedicating time to these diverse attractions that showcase both the ancient and modern spirit of the city.

A lot of you requested for itinerary! ✈️ day 1 reach Beijing at 7am ✈️ day 9 9am! So you have almost full 8 days feedback: we went with parents and all of us felt the pace was just nice without rushing anywhere. Time was very flexible as well if you wanna extend your time at some places.
