Chili Seasoning (you do you)
3-different kinds of beans (dark/red kidney, chick, black beans…)
Brown meats, add 1/3 chili seasoning, add beans, add all tomato cans. Add 1/3 chili seasoning. Cover. Let marry.
1/2 hour before serving - add the last 1/3 of chili seasoning.
I serve it with jalapeño cornbread and sweet cornbread. I make it with those jiffy boxes. I also serve it with shredded cheddar, sour cream, sliced, jalapeño, and oyster crackers.
Chili is a classic comfort food perfect for warming up on chilly nights, and this recipe offers a delicious, hearty take using a mix of hamburger and steak for depth of flavor. Incorporating three different types of beans such as dark red kidney, chickpeas, and black beans adds not only texture but also nutritional benefits like fiber and protein. Using a variety of tomato products—crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and paste—creates a robust tomato base that enriches the chili's taste and consistency. Seasoning is key in this chili recipe, with the chili seasoning added in thirds during cooking to allow the flavors to meld and intensify. This technique ensures a perfectly balanced spice level that can be customized to your preference. Serving the chili with jalapeño cornbread and sweet cornbread, particularly those quick and easy jiffy mixes, complements the spicy notes while providing a slightly sweet contrast. Toppings like shredded cheddar, sour cream, sliced jalapeños, and oyster crackers offer layers of creaminess, heat, and crunch, enhancing each bite's complexity. These accompaniments also allow guests to tailor their bowls to their liking, a feature that makes this chili recipe ideal for gatherings. This meal not only satisfies hunger but also brings comfort and warmth, perfect for a cozy night in or social occasions during colder weather. Incorporating these ingredients and preparation methods reflects a well-thought-out approach to chili that goes beyond basic recipes. Whether you're a seasoned cook or trying chili for the first time, this blend of meats, beans, tomato elements, and seasoning offers a versatile and fulfilling dish that you can confidently share and enjoy with family and friends.
