Let's talk about herbs first. When I was wondering *what is the best herb for high cholesterol*, I found a few that really stood out. Garlic is a powerhouse! I started adding a couple of cloves of fresh garlic to almost all my savory dishes – stir-fries, soups, even a simple pasta sauce. It’s known for its ability to help reduce total and LDL cholesterol. Another game-changer for me has been turmeric. I love making golden milk lattes or adding a teaspoon to my morning smoothie. Its active compound, curcumin, is a fantastic anti-inflammatory and has shown promise in supporting healthy cholesterol levels. I also became a big fan of psyllium husk; it's technically a fiber, but it works wonders. Just a spoonful in water or a smoothie helps bind to cholesterol in your digestive tract, preventing its absorption. Green tea is another one I swear by; I try to have a cup or two daily.
