✨ Super Moist Honey Bun Cake✨
YELLOW CAKE
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1½ cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 egg yolks
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup buttermilk
CINNAMON SUGAR LAYER
• ⅔ cup light brown sugar
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp cinnamon
VANILLA HONEY GLAZE
• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 2 tbsp melted butter
• 1 tsp honey
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 3–4 tbsp milk
• Pinch of salt
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease a 9x13 pan.
2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs + yolks, then vanilla.
5. Add dry ingredients and buttermilk until combined.
6. Mix brown sugar, sugar, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
7. Spread half the batter into pan. Sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar.
8. Top with remaining batter and remaining cinnamon sugar. Swirl top lightly with a knife.
9. Bake 30 mins, then loosely tent with foil and continue baking 10–20 mins until center is set.
10. Mix glaze ingredients until smooth and pour over warm cake.
11. Cool about 20 mins before slicing into gooey bars.
💡I removed the foil after about 20 minutes so the center could finish baking properly. Don’t panic if it still looks too gooey at first; it firms up more as it cools 😋
