When I was diagnosed with Svt on top of my other heart stuff we moved out of the country and purchased a home 2 mins from the local firehouse, I’m the one they know as the heart patient.

That night… it was my youngest.

With Chest pain for the very first time.

That kind of fear humbles you fast.

The same EMS who have saved me more times than I can count

showed up for my baby loud.

When I say they’ll always have my heart…

I mean that literally. My heart will always be in there hands 🙌

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Idk how we both made it thru this night ok but I thank god every day that we did 🙏🙌

... Read moreLiving near the local firehouse has been a real blessing, especially since my diagnosis of SVT combined with other heart issues. Having emergency responders so close gives a unique peace of mind that’s hard to put into words. When my youngest child suddenly experienced chest pain for the first time, the fear was overwhelming – nothing prepares you for that moment. But knowing the EMS team personally, the very people who have saved my life multiple times, their quick and loud response to our home was both reassuring and humbling. This experience deepened my appreciation for the vital role EMS plays—not just in medical emergencies but in the emotional support they offer families facing frightening situations. Living just two minutes from the firehouse ensured that help was immediate, something every heart patient or parent can relate to. It reminds me that our hearts are quite literally in the hands of these heroes. From real-life experience, I can share that being proactive about your residence location in relation to emergency services can make a critical difference. For families with health challenges, it’s more than just convenience; it’s a lifeline. Moments like these highlight the importance of a close-knit community and the dedication of EMS personnel who go beyond their call of duty. I am endlessly grateful to have such heroes nearby and to have come through that night safely with both of my hearts—mine and my child’s.
