helpful things I do to prep for every semester!

With a new semester coming up, I wanted to share some super helpful things I do to get ready! I've always had such a hard time with motivation and procrastination, so I've found some tips and tricks to help me out. All of these have worked so well for me, and I'm hoping others find them useful too!!

📚 Make a strong study schedule!

I love going into a new semester with a study schedule already planned out. Doing this helps keep me on track, and even lets me get ahead in my classes! I like to schedule a 2 hour study session per lecture for each class. I've found that this is enough time to review the lecture material and do any readings/assignments for the next one!

📚 Put all assignments in a spreadsheet!

As soon as my professors post their syllabus, I take all of my readings, assignments, and tests and put them into one spreadsheet! I organize it by due date, so I know what to focus on first. This makes it super easy to see what's coming up without having to check 5 different syllabuses!

📚 Find a cute Notion template for the semester!

Each semester, I like to change up the Notion template I use for all my college stuff. This way everything feels fresh and motivates me to keep doing a good job! Having all my notes, prof office hours, and grades all in one place is super super helpful.

📚 Make a list of everything you need for your dorm!

I'm moving from a dorm to an apartment this year so there's a bunch of stuff I gotta get. I've been making a list to share with my roommates, just to make sure we don't have too many repeat items!

... Read moreAs a new semester approaches, transitioning effectively can be crucial for student success. One of the best strategies is to develop a structured study schedule that assigns focused study sessions per class. This method ensures that you allocate adequate time to review materials and complete assignments efficiently. Additionally, utilizing tools like spreadsheets to track assignments and deadlines can vastly improve organization. Create sections for each class with due dates and tasks, keeping all necessary information in one easily accessible location. This approach minimizes the stress of juggling multiple syllabuses and helps prioritize tasks. Finding a suitable Notion template can also enhance your workflow. A delightful and personalized workspace will help maintain motivation, making it easier to manage notes, office hours, and grades. Fresh environments can lead to improved focus during study sessions. Moreover, preparing a comprehensive list of necessities for your dorm or apartment is another vital step. This list should include essential items and amenities fitted for living off-campus, ensuring that the transition will be smooth. Lastly, don’t forget to connect with fellow students online! Engaging with communities and sharing preparation tips can provide new insights and foster a supportive network heading into the semester.
