Your body detoxes every single day through your liver, lymph, gut, & skin- but it needs the right kind of support to actually do its job!!
Here are some ways I support detox throughout the week:
- Love to prep cruciferous veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, & Brussels sprouts. They’re rich in sulforaphane, a compound that helps your liver neutralize & eliminate toxins- & they’re so easy to throw on bowls or salads.
- I toss micro broccoli onto my meals as well (fav is from @AeroFarms 🌱 ) They can have up to 100x more sulforaphane!
- I take NAC daily- it helps your body make more glutathione (our master antioxidant), supports immune health, & has even been shown to help with OCD (I totally notice a difference)
- I also take liposomal glutathione, especially when I’m under more stress, recovering from being sick, or in a heavier detox protocol.
- I sweat 3–4x a week- sauna, hot yoga, or just a good workout. Sweating supports lymph flow & helps eliminate toxins through the skin.
- I eat lots of fiber, but love adding a tsp of psyllium husk to smoothies or no-bake recipes. It acts like a gentle binder, helping move toxins out through daily elimination. (2 tbsp ground flaxseed is another great option)
Supporting your body's natural detoxification system is essential for maintaining overall health and vitality. The liver, lymphatic system, gut, and skin continuously work to eliminate toxins, but they require proper nourishment and practices to function optimally. Incorporating cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts into your diet is a powerful way to boost detox. These veggies are rich in sulforaphane, a compound known for supporting liver enzymes that neutralize harmful substances. An excellent way to magnify these benefits is by adding micro broccoli to your meals. Micro broccoli can contain up to 100 times more sulforaphane than mature broccoli, making it a potent ingredient to elevate any salad or dish. Choosing sustainably grown microgreens, like those from AeroFarms, ensures both nutrient density and quality. Supplementing with NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) daily can promote the production of glutathione — the body’s master antioxidant that plays a critical role in neutralizing oxidative stress and supporting immune function. Liposomal glutathione supplements are particularly effective, especially during periods of increased stress or when recovering from illness, as they enhance glutathione absorption. Regular sweating through activities like sauna sessions, hot yoga, or vigorous workouts can facilitate toxin elimination via the skin while boosting lymphatic circulation. This natural detox pathway is often overlooked but is vital for clearing waste products from the body. Finally, a fiber-rich diet supports detox by promoting regular bowel movements, which is essential for removing waste and toxins from the gut. Adding psyllium husk to smoothies or no-bake recipes acts as a gentle binder, aiding in toxin removal without causing digestive discomfort. Ground flaxseed also serves a similar purpose, providing fiber and omega-3 fatty acids that contribute to gut health. By combining these simple yet effective practices, you can support your body’s inherent ability to detoxify naturally, promoting better energy, improved immune function, and overall wellness — without the need for harsh cleanses or extreme diets.
