Ya Switzerland may have ruined future morning matcha runs

6/19 Edited to

... Read moreI've always cherished my morning matcha ritual, treating it as a peaceful moment to kickstart the day. However, after visiting Switzerland, my relationship with morning beverages shifted dramatically. The Swiss morning culture, centered largely around fresh coffee and diverse breakfast options, introduced me to a whole new appreciation for my morning drink. I realized that what I considered a simple matcha run back home could be enriched with a broader experience, including fresh-baked breads, local cheeses, and the social aspect of sharing a morning drink with others. Moreover, the clarity and precision in Swiss preparation methods made me rethink how I approach matcha at home. Their emphasis on quality ingredients and careful preparation inspired me to experiment more with my matcha, from sourcing organic leaves to perfecting the froth and water temperature. This elevated my morning routine and made the process feel more immersive and rewarding. Interestingly, the phrase "holy morning coffee run" from one of my favorite signs in Switzerland perfectly captures the reverence people have for their morning drinks there. It wasn’t just about caffeine—it was the experience, the pause, and the enjoyment. If you’re someone who enjoys morning matcha or coffee runs, I recommend embracing this holistic approach. Try pairing your matcha with a simple Swiss-style breakfast or take time to truly focus on the preparation ritual. It might just transform your morning into a more mindful and enjoyable experience, much like it did for me after my Switzerland trip.
