FIBROID PAIN IS NO JOKE!
It landed me in the ER. That’s how I found out. I have random flare ups sometimes multiple times a week. I still can’t fathom that they are there. Any race can develop fibroids but it’s more common for Black women to develop them.
This is a greater severity for us because the Tumors are often larger, more numerous, which causes worse symptoms. YET that are still so many questions that need answers. This is a public health issue. It’s expensive, time consuming and a disruption to daily lives.
If you have followed me for some time you would know that I have a period / women health based Instagram documenting my journey, thoughts and overall advocating for women health! I’ve always wanted to help do more research and provide more access to information regarding our health. I took a break from posting but who would have known the same thing I was advocating for others would pull me back in to start advocating for myself.
5 years after making the post I did ( see second photo ) I would be diagnosed with having multiple Fibroids. God has a way of aligning you. I’m following his lead throughout this whole journey.
My women’s health account on Instagram is @every28days 💕 follow along and I have something amazing I’ve been working on for years to help us! God willing I will be able to share more about it this year.

I’ve been using proteolytic enzymes. I wish I knew about them sooner! Had surgery last year and my biggest one was the size of a grapefruit. Due to complications in surgery, they had to leave behind the smaller fibroids. I don’t want a hysterectomy, so I’ve been trying everything else! Hope you feel better soon!! The pain is no joke
