Genre: Romance

My rating: 10/10

My review: This was my first book by Millie Belizaire and it was a beautiful masterpiece. Wonderfully written! I love how you could tell the age difference in each part! I felt every emotion possible while reading this, and emotional roller coaster. The character development is phenomenal. I couldn’t stop reading it and was sad it ended! Such an amazing book covering trauma, restoration, and love. This a book I will re read and think about often! If she writes all of her books like this, then sign me up bc I am hooked! I will definitely be reading more books by Millie Belizaire! #BookReviews #bookrecap #bookreadersoflemon8

... Read moreYou know when you finish a book and just can't stop thinking about it? That's exactly how I felt after diving into 'Fast' by Millie Belizaire. I gave it a 10/10, and honestly, if I could give it a 6/5 like some of those amazing book review graphics I see, I totally would! This isn't just another romance novel; it's a profound journey that resonates deeply. Millie Belizaire has truly crafted an emotional roller coaster that had me feeling everything from heart-wrenching pain to soaring hope. The way she navigates complex emotions, especially around trauma and the path to restoration, is just masterful. It’s not often a book can make you genuinely feel the characters' journeys so intensely. I found myself completely engrossed, turning pages late into the night, desperate to know what would happen next. The characters in 'Fast' felt incredibly real, so flawed, and so wonderfully human. Watching them grow and evolve throughout the story was one of the most rewarding parts. Their transformation is profound, and you truly root for them, even through their most difficult struggles. The dynamic created by the age difference between the characters was handled with such authenticity, adding another rich layer of depth to their relationship without ever feeling cliched or forced. It’s a testament to Belizaire’s skill that she tackles such intricate relationships with grace and realism. Beyond the beautiful romance, which is woven with such care, 'Fast' tackles some really weighty themes. The trigger warnings aren't just for show – it delves into child abuse, assault in prisons, and mental instability with sensitivity but also unflinching honesty. Yet, it never feels gratuitous. Instead, these difficult subjects are used to highlight the incredible power of restoration and the healing potential of love. It’s a powerful story about finding light after darkness and rebuilding oneself piece by piece. If you're searching for a romance that offers more than just a light read – one that has substance, incredible depth, and characters you won't forget – then 'Fast' by Millie Belizaire is absolutely for you. It's the kind of book that stays with you long after the last page, making you ponder the characters and their journey. I'm already planning a re-read because there’s so much to unpack and appreciate. This book has definitely made me a huge fan of Millie Belizaire, and I'm already eager to dive into her next work. Seriously, if you're a #bookreader looking for your next obsession, pick up 'Fast'!
