Hi. I know it’s been a VERY long time since I posted on here, but I am back and I FINALLY finished the book. To be very honest, this last book was not it.
Review: I had very high expectations for this book and was severely disappointed. One of the main characters had me thinking she changed her male-centered ways, only for one of the main character to go right back to it. That storyline had me disappointed in the author, truly. The other plot lines in this book (mainly about draculaura) were actually good! The only problem I had was that she did not get enough of a plot (even though this book is SUPPOSED to mainly be about her). This book felt like The first books main characters stories and pushed the other “main characters” aside for Frankie and Melody. Even though their plot lines were decent. Anyways, this book was okay, I was very upset that the ending seemed very rushed. But it’s whatever.
**THESE ATE MY OPINIONS! I AM NOT AN ACTUAL BOOK REVIEWER!**
... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on my last post about 'Monster High 4: Back And Deader Than Ever,' I wanted to dive a bit deeper into the Monster High book series by Lisi Harrison for those who might be new to it or curious about other titles. I know my review of the fourth book wasn't glowing, but the series as a whole has a special place for many readers, myself included, even if some installments hit differently!
First off, if you're asking 'who is the Monster High author?' – that would be the fantastic Lisi Harrison. She's known for creating compelling teenage stories, and her work on the Monster High series brings these iconic ghoul-friends to life in a whole new way. Beyond Monster High, she's also written the popular 'Clique' series and 'Alphas,' so she definitely knows how to craft engaging narratives for young adults. Her ability to blend real-world teen issues with a supernatural twist is what makes her books, including the Monster High series, so unique.
For those interested in exploring all the Monster High books, there's a main series of four novels, starting with 'Monster High' (the first one), followed by 'The Ghoul Next Door,' 'Where There's a Wolf, There's a Way,' and then the one I just reviewed, 'Back And Deader Than Ever.' There are also companion books and spin-offs, making the Monster High literary universe quite expansive! If you're planning to read them, I'd definitely recommend starting from the beginning to get the full scope of the characters' journeys. Each book, like 'Monster High 4: Back And Deader Than Ever,' usually features a distinctive cover – often dark with vibrant accents, like the black background with pink lace patterns, a white skull logo, and silver text on the fourth book, truly capturing the spooky-chic vibe.
You can typically find these books at most major bookstores, online retailers, or even your local library. They're a great read for anyone who enjoys stories about friendship, self-acceptance, and navigating high school, all with a fun, monstrous twist. While my experience with the fourth book was a bit mixed, I still think the series offers a lot to love, especially for fans of the animated show or the dolls. It’s always interesting to see how the author expands on the lore and relationships we know. Happy reading, ghouls and guys!
