Homemade Black Bean Burgers | Easy High-Protein 🍔

Hi friends! 🤍 In today’s video (YouTube: LaQuintaDominique), I’m sharing how I make my favorite homemade black bean burgers — simple, high in protein, and perfect for meal prep.

This is my first long-form cooking video, and I had so much fun filming it! Whether you’re vegetarian or just looking for a meatless meal, these burgers are flavorful, budget-friendly, and easy to make.

🫘 Ingredients (makes 4 patties)

• 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed

• ½ cup breadcrumbs (or oat flour for a cleaner option)

• 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan: 1 tbsp flaxseed + 3 tbsp water)

• ¼ cup finely chopped onion

• 2 garlic cloves, minced

• 1 tsp chili powder

• 1 tsp cumin

• ½ tsp paprika

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 1–2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

🍔 Instructions

1. Mash the beans:

In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth (a few chunks are okay).

2. Mix everything:

Add onion, garlic, spices, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix until the texture is firm and holds together — add a little more breadcrumbs if too wet.

3. Form patties:

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.

4. Cook:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each patty 4–5 minutes per side until browned and firm.

5. Serve:

Serve on a whole-grain bun or lettuce wrap with your favorite toppings (avocado, tomato, onion, lettuce, mustard, or Greek yogurt sauce).
