I’ve found that setting up soft landing spots near the bed helps reduce the risk of injury when cats jump down. Using cushions or rugs on the floor can protect their paws and joints, especially if they do frequent jumps. It’s also helpful to ensure the bed isn’t too high for your cat; adjustments to bed height or providing a stepping stool can make it safer. Additionally, some cats might scratch or claw the bed when climbing up, so trim their nails regularly and provide nearby scratching posts to discourage unwanted furniture damage. Engaging your cat in play sessions before bedtime can also help expend some of their energy, potentially reducing impulsive jumps during the night.
