Regularly reviewing and updating your notes ensures they stay relevant and easier to locate. Using the search function with specific terms related to your notes—for instance, "Broca's area" or "motor area" when studying neuroscience—helps pinpoint exactly what you need. This is especially useful if your notes contain technical terms or abbreviations. In my experience, handwriting recognition apps combined with typed annotations on iPad notes also improve searchability. They convert handwriting to text that search tools can process, bridging the gap between manual note-taking and digital efficiency. Lastly, maintaining a consistent note-taking workflow, whether through apps or a digital planner, reduces the anxiety of losing track of your work. Backing up your notes regularly to cloud services also safeguards them from accidental deletion. By implementing these practices, I've greatly reduced the times I know I wrote something but can't find it, making study sessions and work more productive and less stressful.
