POV: You just realised the club doesn’t have a DDJ

Ministry of DJs

... Read moreAs someone who loves DJing and spends a lot of time at clubs, realizing the absence of a DDJ-FLX4 in a club setup can feel like a letdown. The DDJ-FLX4 is celebrated among DJs for its versatility, intuitive interface, and seamless integration with Rekordbox and Serato software. When a club doesn’t have one, it often means DJs need to adjust to different gear such as the CDJ-3000X or DJM-A9 mixers, which, while powerful, offer a different user experience. From my personal experience, the transition from a DDJ-FLX4 setup to CDJs or other gear at clubs initially felt challenging. The FLX4’s layout is very beginner-friendly, making it easy to mix and create live remixes. When using CDJs like the CDJ-3000X, the focus shifts more towards traditional vinyl-style controls and physical media, which might require more advanced skills but can offer a richer tactile experience once mastered. Additionally, the DJM-A9 mixer is a highly professional tool that enhances sound quality and effects control, but pairing it with non-DDJ controllers demands adaptability from the DJ. It's important for DJs visiting new clubs to familiarize themselves with multiple controller types to maintain performance quality. For aspiring DJs and club enthusiasts, understanding the strengths and limitations of different equipment allows you to appreciate the art beyond just gear preference. While the DDJ-FLX4 is a fantastic controller, embracing other equipment expands your skills and versatility. Clubs without the DDJ-FLX4 often have highly professional setups catering to various mixing styles, providing unique vibes and creative opportunities for DJs.

Applying for a PPO against your parent🫠☹️
Applying for a PPO against your own parent… is not something you ever imagine yourself doing. And as a Catholic, it feels even heavier — because one of the commandments is to honour your father and mother. But what do you do when the very people who raised you are also the ones hurting you? For

Working Harder Isn’t Enough (Try this!)
Have you realised that working more hours doesn’t actually give you more freedom Your child won’t remember the presents you buy them. They’ll remember your presence. The moments. The conversations. The time you actually had to be with them. Working extra hours at your job won’t give you more

4 types of rest when “just relax” doesn’t work
As someone who’s both a digital art psychotherapist and a sensitive human, I’ve never really related to “just do nothing and you’ll feel rested”. My brain usually gets more anxious, not calmer. Over time, I realised I needed different kinds of rest that still feel safe for my nervous system.

Am I DOOMED as an introvert???🫠
Not me, an introvert, spiralling before every interview like it’s a do-or-die situation 😭 The small talk?? The self-promo part?? Instant urge to disappear... But here’s the thing I realised: Turns out, you don’t HAVE TO fake being outgoing to ace interviews. You just need to show your strengths.

I Used to Overthink Everything, Until I Realised This
If you are someone who is always afraid of being judged and tends to overthink a lot, let this be your sign to stop letting that fear control you. The truth is, Earth is such a small planet in this huge universe, and our lives are only a tiny part of something so much bigger. So why do we spend

It’s not just you. Your wallet feels it too😮
Does it feel like you’re working just as hard, but your money doesn’t go as far? You’re doing your best: budgeting, saying “no,” staying disciplined. Yet the math doesn’t seem to add up lately. It’s frustrating when your favorite Kopi or a simple bowl of Laksa costs more than it did just a few m

The Truth About Living Alone
Growing up in an unstable home, I learned to be independent long before most people my age. At 17, I was forced out, moving from one relative’s place to another — never staying long enough to feel settled. That didn’t last either. And at 22, with nowhere left to go, I finally began living on my own

I don’t have a dream job but…
I used to chase the idea of a dream job until I realised happiness isn’t found in a job. It’s built in the life you create around it. Financial planning is the foundation for that life. It’s not about chasing wealth. It’s about clarity, freedom, and choice to design the life you truly want.
