Exclamation Marks, Cats, Candles & Floor Plans

From playing with dollhouses instead of dolls as a little girl to designing houses today, I’ve always been drawn to the power of storytelling through space and aesthetics. Let me introduce myself, here are some fun facts about me. 🙋🏻‍♀️

-I have a Persian/Himalayan cat named Wilfred. He’s from the same litter as my brother’s cat, Howie.

-I was 1000% only a dog person until I met Howie and fell in love with his charm.

-My family is my entire world, I spend most of my free time with my parents. :)

-I grew up in the country with horses.

-I started my education in a Journalism degree at Carleton University before switching into my Bachelor’s of Interior Design.

-While at Carleton, I skated on their varsity Figure Skating team. It was so fun!

-I am a registered figure skating coach and have LOVED teaching kids for the past 9+ years.

-My little sister (who’s 9 years younger than me and a huge Swifty) got me back into Taylor Swift and took me to the Eras tour.

-While I don’t identify as a Disney adult lol, I am a huge fan of the parks and the design empire they created.

-I love food and finding fun boutique restaurants!

-I can’t spell lol, hence leaving journalism!!!!

-I am obsessed with candles and go through them like crazy!!!!! Like 2 per month lol.

-I love floral patterns, gingham, checks…all the fun patterns!

-While I don’t think I’m funny, I have a fun sense of humour (I grew up around a lot of very silly boy’s).

-I’ve always been super into running and am training for a 1/2 marathon in May.

-I’m going back to school for User Experience Design in hopes to extend my branding skills to offer more digital services in the future.

-I use a lot of exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a designer I have had the privilege of working alongside side some incredible talent and traveling to stunning homes over the years. Whether it’s revamping your custom floor plans, hunting down the perfect vintage find, or styling a space until it just feels right, I live for the details that make a home feel like you. 🫶🏻

... Read moreIn addition to what I’ve shared about my personal and professional journey, I want to dive deeper into how my love for cats and those little details like exclamation marks actually influence my interior design style. For example, having Wilfred, my Persian/Himalayan cat, has taught me the importance of creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also comfortable and functional for everyone, pets included. When designing a home, I always consider cozy nooks where a cat can curl up or places for natural light to stream in – because those details really bring life to a room. Also, my obsession with candles isn’t just about the scent; candles play a big role in setting an inviting mood in a space. I often incorporate soft lighting and scented elements that warm up a room, making it feel more personal and lived-in. From floral patterns and gingham to the charm of vintage pieces, every element I select contributes to the story the home tells. Training for a half marathon and my background in figure skating have taught me discipline and attention to detail, which translate into my work ethic and passion for design. Whether I’m revamping floor plans or styling a space remotely, I aim to capture the homeowner’s personality with thoughtful details that truly make a house a home. My journey back to school for User Experience Design also reflects my commitment to growing and creating meaningful digital experiences that complement my work in interior design.
