When I began my powerlifting prep, I quickly realized the importance of structured training sessions, like the initial bench comp prep, to build both strength and confidence. A crucial part of preparing for a bench press competition is mastering proper technique along with developing raw power. I found that integrating accessory exercises such as triceps extensions, shoulder stability drills, and back strengthening routines helped improve my overall bench press performance. Consistency in training, coupled with adequate rest and nutrition, laid the foundation for my progress. Mental preparation is just as vital. Visualizing the lift, setting realistic goals, and maintaining a positive mindset helped me overcome the anxiety leading up to stepping on the platform. The excitement of my first meet on March 21 motivates me every day to push through the tough workouts. If you are gearing up for your own powerlifting meet, remember to track your progress, listen to your body, and connect with a supportive community. Each small win, from Day 1 bench prep to the competition day, builds your journey toward strength and achievement.
