I had so many signs leading up to my birth I simply dismissed as normal pregnancy things lol 😂 #pregnancy #fitpregnancy #fitnessmotivation #gymtok #foryou #fitnesstiktok #pregnantlife #pregnantbelly #pregnantmama #fitness #workout #workoutmotivation #workoutroutine
It's funny looking back now, but in the final days before my baby girl decided to make her grand entrance, I was so caught up in the routine of life and preparing for her arrival that I completely overlooked what, in hindsight, were pretty clear signals. I mean, who knew that things I just brushed off as 'normal' pregnancy discomforts were actually my body getting ready for labor? My last workout before I went into labor was actually pretty intense, and looking back, it probably helped me power through! I remember focusing a lot on building and maintaining strength, especially in my back and biceps. Gorilla Rows were a staple for me – keeping my back strong was crucial, not just for carrying my pregnant belly, but also for all the upcoming baby-carrying, breastfeeding, and bottle-feeding sessions. And those biceps? People often forget about them, but trust me, when you're constantly lifting and holding a little human, they're the first muscles to feel it. Maintaining strong biceps was a key part of my postpartum preparation, and I'm so glad I kept that up. I was definitely feeling 9 months pregnant, getting ready to welcome our baby girl. We were in full nesting mode, making sure everything was set, from the nursery to the car seat. Seriously, even just carrying her car seat around the store felt heavy at the gecko! Amidst all this excitement, my body was giving me little labor hints that I simply didn't catch. Things like my nose draining, which I just thought was allergies, or feeling an odd kind of fatigue that I put down to being in my third trimester. I just dismissed them as 'normal pregnancy things,' not realizing my body was getting ready for the biggest workout of all. It makes me laugh now, thinking about how I was just laying there, telling myself it was all good, and that I'd relax the public floor, completely oblivious to what was just around the corner! It really goes to show how unique every pregnancy journey is, and how easy it is to miss those subtle cues. My fitness routine wasn't just about feeling good; it was about preparing my body for the marathon of labor and the demands of motherhood. Being strong helped me feel more capable and ready for whatever came next, even if I wasn't quite ready for the 'when' of it all. Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing – every workout, every overlooked sign, was part of our special journey to meeting our baby girl.
