What theā¦
It's really frustrating when you find yourself constantly helping others but feeling overlooked or unappreciated. From my experience, people often take favors for granted, not realizing the effort or kindness behind them. This can create a sense of irritation because while the act of helping makes you feel good initially, the lack of gratitude can wear you down over time. One thing I've learned is the importance of setting clear boundaries. Before agreeing to do favors, it's okay to assess whether you truly want to invest your time and energy. It's also helpful to communicate your feelings if you feel taken for granted. Sometimes people aren't aware of how their actions affect you until you express it. Another strategy is to prioritize self-care. Ensuring you have enough time and energy for yourself can prevent resentment from building up. Remember, being kind doesn't mean letting others take advantage of you. In my journey, understanding that not everyone will show appreciation in the way we'd expect has made it easier to handle disappointment. Cultivating gratitude for your own kindness rather than relying on external validation can be empowering. Ultimately, while doing favors and helping people comes from a good place, protecting your emotional well-being is key. Learning to say no or stepping back when necessary can improve your relationships and your own happiness.
