I really liked this book 🌸✨

Omg just finished it and it was sooo good 🥹📖 10/10 recommend.

I picked up Detached & Desired thinking it was going to be another relationship advice book, but it’s actually really eye-opening. It reminds you that being detached isn’t about playing games — it’s about finally valuing your peace and not overthinking every little thing.

It made me realize how many times I confused anxiety with chemistry and how much calmer life feels when you stop trying to force someone to choose you.

Such a powerful reminder that the right people won’t make you question your worth. ✨

... Read moreOkay, so after raving about 'Detached & Desired,' I realized I needed to share a bit more about why it hit so hard for me. Before picking up Nora Parker's guide, I honestly thought 'detachment' was just a fancy word for playing hard-to-get. Boy, was I wrong! This book completely reframed my understanding. It’s not about emotional unavailability; it's about reclaiming your emotional sovereignty. For so long, I’d tie my happiness and validation to how others perceived me or responded to me. If someone wasn't texting back immediately, my mind would spiral. That's what the book means by confusing anxiety with chemistry – that intense, unsettled feeling I thought was 'passion' was actually just my own anxious attachment kicking in. One of the biggest shifts for me was learning to value my peace above all else. It sounds simple, but in practice, it means saying 'no' to things that drain you, setting boundaries without guilt, and withdrawing gracefully from situations that don’t serve your highest good. For instance, I used to chase after people who showed inconsistent interest, constantly trying to 'earn' their attention. Now, if someone isn't showing up consistently, I see it as a clear signal, not a challenge to overcome. This isn't about being cold; it's about having such a strong sense of self-worth that you intuitively know what you deserve. The 'Desired' part of the title also started making so much more sense. When you're truly detached from outcomes and focused on your own well-being, you naturally become more magnetic, confident, and, yes, irresistible. It’s not a trick; it’s an energetic shift. When you're not desperate for external validation, you radiate an inner calm and self-assurance that others find incredibly appealing. I’ve noticed I attract healthier, more respectful connections now because I’m no longer tolerating anything less. It’s like the universe responds to your newfound boundaries. The book gave me practical ways to cultivate this mindset. It wasn't just theory. For example, it encourages journaling to identify anxiety triggers and reflecting on past relationship patterns. I started practicing mindful breathing when I felt that familiar anxious pull to text someone who wasn't reciprocating. It sounds small, but these consistent actions slowly rewired my brain. It’s a journey, not a destination, but this book was the perfect roadmap to feeling truly empowered in my relationships and, more importantly, with myself. Highly recommend diving in if you're ready to stop overthinking and start living more peacefully.

So I finished 'No Longer Human' and now I'm reading the Goodreads reviews... yea, a lot of people didn't like the book! They have good reasons 😂 I don't see the protagonist of this book as a sympathetic character, so I don't very much relate with or agree with the sex
