The ghost that haunts me walks amongst the living
So freely that you, almost, can’t see the skeletons that he drags behind him
Who he let me know is long dead and gone and who he, actually, is is all that remains
It’s like alternate realities that coexist, how can a dead person still be in this physical plane
Still visible to the naked eye; you could touch and see him
Yet he is the ghost of someone who once lived
How do you mourn a loss, that you feel so deeply, when what is lost is felt and not seen
My life stopped the day that he died, yet his heart continued to beat
I miss and love the person that I knew and had hoped him to be
But I release and forgive the person that he chose to be
And, still, the ghost that haunts me walks amongst the living
