Matcha 🍵 time 💚
Feelin' like some matcha 🍵
today..
I found a different way to prepare it
The Goods:
Ujido Ceremonial grade matcha powder
2 oz. water
1 cup almond milk (I used vanilla almond breeze)
Bamboo whisk
Morning Recipe
Prepare the Matcha: Whisk 1 tsp matcha
with 2 oz warm water.
2. The "Creamer" Trick: Instead of just heating the milk, froth 1 cup of the almond milk until it's thick. The volume from the foam makes the drink feel more indulgent and satisfying.
Enjoy 😉💚😊
If you’re a matcha enthusiast looking to elevate your daily tea ritual, incorporating frothed almond milk is a game changer. I found that using ceremonial grade matcha powder like Ujido’s ensures the freshest, most vibrant green tea flavor that’s smooth, slightly sweet, and packed with antioxidants. To achieve a rich texture, frothing your almond milk is essential. While electric frothers make this easier, you can also try manually whisking or shaking heated almond milk in a sealed jar until foam forms. The foam adds volume and creaminess without the heaviness of dairy. One tip I discovered is to warm the water just enough to dissolve the matcha effectively—around 175°F (80°C)—but avoid boiling water as it can make matcha bitter. Whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion with a bamboo whisk to create that frothy layer on top. I prefer vanilla-flavored almond milk like Almond Breeze as it complements matcha’s grassy notes with a subtle sweetness, reducing the need for added sugar or sweeteners. Experimenting with micro-foams can be tricky, and sometimes the foam doesn’t turn out perfectly thick, but that’s part of the fun! Even less-than-perfect froth improves the texture noticeably compared to simply heated milk. For an extra touch, try topping with a sprinkle of matcha powder or a drizzle of honey. This preparation makes your morning matcha feel more like a special treat, perfect for sipping slowly while starting your day refreshed and energized.
