My last day at my job today…starting a new journey

I ended up leaving this job that I helped people with disabilities learn things to do in the real world from helping with groceries to pay for groceries and everything else. I made a lot of relationships with coworkers and clients. I’m happy I got to meet everyone and making such amazing bonds with clients. I will visit once I get my schedule together. My client’s family decided to show me some love today. I loved everything. #lovedmyjob #patientadvocacy #fyp #lovemyworkfamily #lovemyclients

... Read moreLeaving a job where I've had the privilege to support people with disabilities in their daily lives has been an emotional and transformative journey. This role was not just about helping with tasks like grocery shopping or managing payments; it was about fostering independence and confidence in clients navigating the real world. Over time, the relationships I built with both clients and coworkers became deeply meaningful, creating a supportive and caring work environment that felt more like a family. Supporting individuals with disabilities involves patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to advocacy. Every small achievement, whether learning a new skill or overcoming a challenge, inspired me and highlighted the importance of personalized care. The love and appreciation shown by my client’s family on my last day truly touched my heart, reinforcing how impactful even simple acts of support can be. Transitioning to a new chapter after such a rewarding role can be bittersweet, but it also offers an opportunity for growth and continued advocacy in new ways. Keeping connections alive by planning visits is a testament to the bonds created and the positive impact we can have when we work with compassion and dedication. For anyone considering a career in patient advocacy or support for people with disabilities, know that the journey is filled with learning, love, and the chance to make a genuine difference. Cherish the connections you make, celebrate each client’s progress, and embrace the unique challenges and rewards this work offers. It’s more than a job; it’s a fulfilling mission to empower others and build authentic relationships.
