Motherhood is often described as a journey filled with highs and lows, moments of joy intertwined with challenges. From my own experience and conversations with others on this path, it’s clear that embracing the "messy middle"—the in-between phases where nothing feels perfectly settled—can be a powerful way to grow. Writing about motherhood doesn’t just mean sharing the big milestones. It’s about the small, everyday stories that capture the real emotions behind being a parent and building a life that aligns with your true self. Travel, for example, has been a remarkable way to refresh and expand my perspective during this ongoing journey. Exploring new places often sparks moments of self-reflection and renewal. Similarly, reading books or engaging with beauty and lifestyle elements offers little escapes and insights that ground us in moments of self-care and inspiration. Writing, blogging, and creatively expressing these experiences also serve as a means of connection, helping many women—including black writers and those on self-discovery journeys—voice their own stories in authentic ways. If you resonate with the blend of motherhood, personal evolution, and life’s unpredictable beauty, embracing your unique experiences and sharing them can be incredibly healing. Life rarely follows a perfect plan, and in that unpredictability, there is room to build a life that truly feels like yours. This continuous interplay between becoming and being—messy, beautiful, and real—is where growth lives and where many of us find our true selves.
