A year of creating more than I consume ❤️
This year I was intentional about putting my phone down after posting and not scrolling as much. I wanted to consume less and create more! It has done wonders for my mental health! I’ve read 36 books so far this year, crocheted and have sewn more than I have the previous year and I’m not saying that to boast. While I love content creation, and learn so much from this app in terms of creativity and skills, I really wanted to be intentional with what I was consuming. So here is a highlight of one project from each month of this year!

Embracing the principle of creating more than consuming can be incredibly rewarding for your mental and emotional well-being. Many people find that constant scrolling and passive consumption on their phones can lead to feelings of anxiety and decreased productivity. By intentionally setting limits on screen time and focusing on hands-on projects such as crocheting and sewing, you can reconnect with your creativity and enjoy tangible accomplishments. A practical way to start is by picking one meaningful project each month, setting achievable goals, and documenting your progress. Not only does this foster a sense of accomplishment, but it also builds a collection of personalized handmade items and skills over time. In addition, immersing yourself in books can broaden your knowledge and provide fresh inspiration for your creative pursuits. The hashtags #sewersgonnasew, #createmorethanyouconsume, #craftersgonnacraft, #craftersoftiktok, and #handmadegifts represent supportive communities where creators share their journeys and projects. Joining such groups can encourage you to sustain your commitment and discover new ideas. Integrating this approach into your daily life can promote mindfulness by making conscious decisions about your time and consumption habits. Ultimately, striking a balance between content creation and mindful consumption helps foster a healthier relationship with technology and nurtures personal growth throughout the year.

Ok I love all of these and really need to get into this! I love to create but sometimes spend more than I should. I think the creating more than consuming is a wonderful way to think about things❤️
