Missing my late dad….

1/18 Edited to

... Read moreLosing a parent is one of the most profound losses a person can face, and the feelings of longing and nostalgia often remain long after they are gone. Many of us find comfort in preserving memories through stories, photographs, or simple daily rituals that remind us of our loved ones. For example, greeting a photo or an item linked to a late father, as shown in the phrase "Assalamualaikum papa Bby datang ni..Brindu papa ..." gently conveys the ongoing connection and yearning one feels. In my own experience, I found that sharing these emotions openly with friends or in writing helped me process the grief. It’s important to acknowledge that feelings of sadness, longing, or even anger are natural parts of mourning. Creating a personal space to celebrate the late dad’s life—for instance, playing his favorite music, cooking his favorite meal, or visiting his favorite place—can foster healing and keep his spirit alive within us. Additionally, joining support groups or speaking with a grief counselor can be invaluable. They provide a safe environment to express feelings without judgment and can introduce coping strategies tailored to individual experiences. Remember that grief is not linear; some days may feel harder than others, and that’s perfectly normal. Embracing this variability allows us to gradually adjust to life without our loved ones while cherishing the bond that remains unbroken by time.

Things I’ve learned about my dad as he grew up
I once thought my relationship with him was beyond salvageable after he changed the locks to my home, kick me out and disowned me. But allowing some healthy distance and time, and me confronting my fears … was worth it. For me, I wouldn’t say that it’s about forgiveness. Instead, I’m grateful that

SURPRISING MY DAD WITH HIS FIRST ROLEX THIS XMAS
My family didn’t grow up rich, instead, there are months where we struggled to pay the bills, and back then, I used to get envious of the people around me being able to afford the latest gadgets and toys. As I grew older, I realised that although we didn’t have a lot, what I did have was uncond

I wanted my tiny tastes to meet someone
Lately I’ve been thinking about how many tiny things I save without really knowing why ☁️ A screenshot of a line I liked. A coffee photo that felt weirdly like me. A color combo I wanted to remember. A random character, a playlist mood, a room corner, a little thought I didn’t want to lose.
