This is what you need to know about supplements

Supplements are meant to help restore optimal health.

But if they are synthetic nutrients, it requires cellular energy and nutritional cofactors to convert to usable forms or to eliminate from the body.

So those supplements are making it harder for the body to restore health. Since it’s requiring more from the body.

I’m a huge fan of supplements but high quality bio available ones.

Unfortunately most of the recommendations I see on this app are not.

And people are wasting their hard earned money on. 😔

for example:

🍊 Vitamin C is not ascorbic acid! Ascorbic acid is simply one part of vitamin c. For vitamin activity to occur you need all parts. It’s like giving someone the frame of a car with no seats, steering wheel, engine and calling it a car.

🥛 vitamin d supplementation is nuanced because you need a few things for proper absorption. Adequate magnesium levels, healthy digestion to absorb fat soluble vitamins, optimal liver & kidney function, adequate vitamin A (retinol levels), etc. so starting at those will be better than taking a vitamin D supplement.

All minerals work together!!!!!! This is crucial. You cannot just supplement with single minerals because it affects, directly and/or indirectly other minerals. Which can create imbalances. One example is:

🦪 high dosages of zinc can affect copper levels. For this reason, I like an oyster supplement for zinc rather than a zinc supplement. Food based supplements are always going to be superior.

🍒 I always say supplements are like the cherries on top.

You need a healthy foundation! You cannot supplement yourself out of poor nutrition + lifestyle habits. Once you have the foundations dialed in, then supplements can come in.

Take it from me who spent lots of 💸💸💸 trying to find supplements to “fix” my symptoms. Only to end up with a supplement graveyard and my symptoms still there.

... Read moreHigh-quality supplements are vital for optimal health. Many store-bought options are synthetic and low in bioavailability, making them less effective. It’s crucial to ensure proper absorption of nutrients, such as vitamin D, which requires magnesium and healthy digestion. Additionally, minerals like zinc and copper need to be balanced to avoid imbalances in the body. Food-based supplements usually provide better efficacy. Remember, supplements should be the 'cherries on top' of a well-rounded diet and lifestyle; they can't replace poor nutrition habits.
