post you before, during and after pregnancy ❤️❤️

... Read moreIt's amazing how much our bodies change during pregnancy and after, isn't it? As someone who's also navigated the postpartum period, I completely understand the mix of emotions you mentioned – celebrating your body's incredible feat while also wanting to feel strong and comfortable in your own skin again. The journey of loving your body, especially with 'extra skin' or other new features, is definitely a process, and it’s one I’m still on myself! It’s easy to look back at bump photos and romanticize, but the reality of postpartum is its own unique chapter. Beyond the visible changes, our postpartum bodies go through so much internally. Many new moms, myself included, experience things like diastasis recti (abdominal separation), pelvic floor weakness, and hormonal shifts that can affect everything from skin elasticity to energy levels. It’s not just about losing weight; it’s about healing and rebuilding from the inside out. When I first looked in the mirror, I remember taking a lot of mirror selfies to compare and document the changes, trying to find beauty in every stage, even with my new stretch marks and thigh tattoos looking a little different. This phase truly highlights the incredible body transformation we undergo. Starting to go back to the gym is a fantastic step, but it's so important to listen to your body and take it slow. My personal tip is to focus on strengthening your core and pelvic floor with gentle exercises first, perhaps with guidance from a postpartum-focused trainer or physical therapist. I started with walks and simple bodyweight movements, gradually increasing intensity. It wasn't about pushing myself to pre-pregnancy limits, but about building sustainable strength and stamina. Remember, your pregnant woman body has just performed a miracle, and it deserves patience and kindness. Don't rush the process of getting back into that pink sports bra or those distressed denim shorts if you're not ready. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the power of self-love and acceptance during this phase. It’s easy to get caught up in societal pressures to 'bounce back,' but our bodies are forever changed, and that’s okay. Celebrate the strength you gained, the life you created, and the new perspective motherhood brings. Sometimes it’s about finding clothes that make you feel good right now, like a comfortable top or a stylish cream sweater that makes you feel put-together, rather than fixating on a past size. It’s about embracing the prominent belly you once carried and the healing body you have now. Don't forget the importance of nourishing your body with nutrient-rich foods and staying hydrated, especially if you're breastfeeding. And perhaps most importantly, prioritize rest whenever you can – easier said than done with a newborn, I know! This entire pregnancy journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Take time for small self-care moments, whether it's a warm bath, reading a book, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of tea. Being a mom is a huge undertaking, and taking care of yourself is just as vital as taking care of your little one. Be kind to yourself, acknowledge your progress, and remember that you are doing an amazing job, mama. Every day is a step forward in this beautiful adventure.
