content creator gf 🤝 chronically offline bf

hey zesties! today’s post is especially for my fellow creator girlies who have a very private, very offline partner 🤭

being a creator means my gallery is 90% videos of myself/the scenery/food. every time i go out, i’m thinking “can this be content?” but my boyfriend? the COMPLETE opposite. he's so private, camera shy and will immediately start hiding the moment he sees me including him in my content LOL

and i used to think this would be a problem. cos i always see creator couples doing cute vlogs, transitions, bf povs, skits, yknow the whole aesthetic. and i’d be like: "why don’t i have that??? shouldn't my relationship look like this too??” 😡 i even argued with him before, thinking he should “just do it for me” to show support for my creator journey. but looking back that was honestly kinda selfish. i had this mindset of: "if you love me, then you should do this for me.”

but that’s not fair. MY dream is content creation, not his. and the few times he did appear in my videos were already out of love. expecting him to do it all the time? that’s entitlement in disguise. putting myself in his shoes, it’s like him making me go for boxing classes every time we met. i might agree once or twice out of love, but if i had to do it EVERY time… omg i would be so sian 😅 (nth against boxing classes, i know some couples do that. but i'm only using this example bc i really hate moving around and doing anything new/sporty makes me uncomfortable )

so ig once i “woke up” from that phase, i realised that my relationship doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s online. and just because he doesn’t want to be on camera, it doesn’t mean he loves me any less 😬

in fact, he supports me in ways that actually matter:

🩷 listening to me rant about being shadowbanned lol

🩷 helping me film when i go for media invites

🩷 hyping me up even though he doesn’t always understand what i’m talking about HAHA

🩷 giving me space to chase what i love, while staying true to himself

he just prefers showing love offline, not on camera.

and that’s perfectly okay!

i think a lot of creator girls feel pressured to have a “tiktok boyfriend” who’s funny, aesthetic, and camera ready 24/7. but coming from someone who’s grown past that envy? you really just need someone who SHOWS UP for you (even if he’s nowhere near your frame 😂😂)

so if your bf is like mine (aka allergic to my camera LMAOO), pls don’t overthink it. it doesn’t mean he loves you less, he prolly just shows his love differently

anyway, that’s my lil opinion. opposites attract i guess HAHAHA. and to any creator girlies who relate… HI ILY 😭🫶 let’s be friends pls.

feel free to give these a read!

... Read moreAs someone navigating the world of content creation alongside a partner who prefers to stay offline, I understand how challenging it can be to balance those differences. At first, I felt frustrated that my boyfriend wasn’t eager to appear in my videos or engage with the camera like other creator couples. But over time, I realized that his privacy and camera shyness didn’t mean a lack of support or love—it just meant he shows it differently. From my experience, it’s crucial to accept that every relationship has its unique dynamic. While some creator couples enjoy filming together nonstop, it’s perfectly fine if your partner is more private. What matters most is the support behind the scenes. For example, my boyfriend listens to me vent about content struggles, helps film when needed, and verbally encourages me even when the technical side of creation goes over his head. One thing I learned is to stop comparing my relationship to others’ carefully curated online personas. Many times, those pretty TikTok boyfriend moments don’t reflect reality—nor do they define a loving, healthy partnership. Embrace the fact that your love story may look different and that’s okay. Also, communication is key. Sharing your feelings about content expectations and respecting his boundaries helped us find middle ground. Maybe you can create some private content together occasionally, but let him set the pace instead of pushing him for the camera. Remember, love isn’t always about being in the spotlight; sometimes it’s in the quiet moments or the little ways your partner shows they care offline. If you relate to having a partner who avoids the camera or social media, you’re definitely not alone. It’s a learning curve but also a beautiful journey of respecting each other’s dreams and comfort zones. If you’re struggling with how to bridge this gap, try focusing more on the support roles your partner naturally takes. Whether that’s helping with filming logistics, being your sounding board, or simply giving space, these actions often matter more than internet fame. Your relationship can thrive even if it’s not a constant content collaboration. Ultimately, opposites attract for a reason. And sometimes the best creative partnerships come from balancing an online presence with offline love. For those creator girlfriends feeling this tension, take heart—your boyfriend’s private nature is just one part of your story, and it can be a strength rather than a setback.

Tbh I think it doesn't matter whether your special one is camera ready or not. Its rly about whether they care for you as much as you care for them. Just like the case of Jack Doherty where he doesn't love the girls he date, he just uses them as content machine for his videos and thats not healthy either. So props to you for drawing a line and respecting his boundaries!!

Leaving home for 5 months… bye 🇸🇬 (part 1)
Hi, I’m Faith, and I just graduated from poly. It’s been 8 months since my internship abroad ended, but I still haven’t fully come to terms with it. That’s probably why I haven’t shared anything from those 5 months yet—I wasn’t ready to face the fact that I’m no longer in Thailand, living that incr
