Never actually wants to hoop 😭#fyp
From my own experience playing team sports, especially basketball, it’s common to encounter teammates who often come up with excuses for not joining practice or games. Phrases like "I want to play but I'm injured" can appear frequently, sometimes making you skeptical about their real commitment. Over time, you start noticing familiar patterns—the repeated injuries or last-minute reasons to sit out. It can be frustrating, especially when you’re eager to play and improve as a team. One way I found effective is maintaining an open and honest conversation with such teammates. Sometimes, their excuses stem from real physical or mental burnout. Understanding their situation can help build team camaraderie and motivate them back to the court. Encouragement and occasional group activities off the court also help strengthen bonds and reduce the tendency to skip practice. Another strategy is focusing on your own motivation and not letting others’ inconsistent participation diminish your passion. Setting personal goals and celebrating small achievements during practice can uplift the overall team spirit. In the end, while some teammates may always have excuses, maintaining a positive attitude and dedication often rubs off on others, encouraging a more committed team environment.
