Free yourself from dysfunctional people

United States
2025/9/10 Edited to

... Read moreDealing with dysfunctional people can be emotionally draining and challenging. These individuals often prioritize their own needs and feelings, sometimes at the cost of others’ well-being. One key to maintaining your mental health is setting healthy boundaries. Boundaries act as a protective measure, helping you define what behavior is acceptable around you and what isn’t. This doesn’t mean cutting people out completely, but rather ensuring you don’t get caught up in their ‘maze of madness’ or take on responsibility for their poor choices or consequences. Setting boundaries can be as simple as clearly communicating your limits in relationships and standing firm even when the other person pushes back. It’s important to recognize when someone is trampling on your feelings or behaving badly and to prioritize your needs first. Practicing self-care and living in your own story rather than trying to edit or fix someone else’s can help build emotional resilience. Another tip is to identify patterns of dysfunctional behavior, such as manipulation or narcissistic abuse, so you can better understand when to disengage or seek support. Surround yourself with people who respect your boundaries and encourage your growth. Remember, freeing yourself from toxic relationships isn’t selfish; it’s essential for your well-being. Taking control of your social environment lets you flourish emotionally and create a healthier, more positive life experience.

When feelings are minimized.
When she reaches… and is met with defensiveness, avoidance, or denial.
