How I keep Good Grades

Wellness Habits

🧘 Habit 1: Full self care day before a test.

🧘 How It Helps Me: I do this to help relax my mind and body before a big day test.

🧘 Habit 2: study 15 minute on 15 minutes off, and when it’s off try to do some chores or make food.

🧘 How It Helps Me: it helps me study but the brake also helps me keep my mind focused without getting distracted.

🧘 Habit 3: do not take a nap as soon as you get home. But if you need to make sure you set an alarm for 15-25 minutes so you can still get a good nights sleep.

🧘 How It Helps Me: It helps me recharge after but also make sure I can keep my sleep schedule regular

2024/3/17 Edited to

... Read moreThe original post shared some fantastic wellness habits for keeping those grades up, like prioritizing self-care before tests, using the 15-minute study method, and managing nap times to maintain a healthy sleep schedule. But getting good grades often requires a holistic approach that goes beyond just these daily routines. Based on my own journey and what I've learned, here are some more practical tips and insights to help you not just survive, but truly thrive in school, aiming for that "A+ grades aesthetic" we all dream of! One of the biggest game-changers for me has been truly embracing the idea of "Get things done when you get them." Procrastination is a sneaky enemy! Instead of letting assignments pile up, I try to tackle them as soon as they're assigned or when I have a window of free time. This might mean starting that essay rough draft the same day it's given or reviewing notes right after a lecture. This proactive approach significantly reduces stress and gives me more time to refine my work, leading to better quality and higher scores. It's about building a consistent study routine. I've found that scheduling specific blocks of time to study every day, even if it's just 30 minutes, helps train my brain. Finding the best environment for concentration is also key – sometimes it's the quiet library, other times a cozy corner with some background music. Break down big tasks into smaller, manageable goals, and don't be afraid to do the most difficult assignments first while your mind is fresh. Beyond individual study, "Communication is key with teachers" – this cannot be stressed enough! I used to be shy about asking for help, but I quickly realized how much it impacts my understanding and grades. If I don't understand a concept, I make sure to ask during class, or even better, go to their office hours. Teachers appreciate it when you show initiative and genuinely want to learn. This ties into the advice to "Get help when you need it." Don't struggle in silence! Whether it's a peer study group, a tutor, or reaching out to your teacher, getting support can make all the difference, especially in those crucial 9th and 10th-grade years when your GPA really starts to matter for college applications. Exploring clubs or academic enrichment programs also provides a fantastic opportunity to deepen your knowledge and demonstrate commitment, which looks great on any college application resume. Finally, let’s revisit the "RELAXATION" and "Self-Care days" aspect. The original post highlighted taking a full self-care day before a test, which is brilliant. But self-care isn't just for big tests; it should be integrated into your regular routine. It's important to remember "Don't push yourself" to the point of burnout. Trying to be perfect all the time is unsustainable. Sometimes, "Don't go past a C" (meaning, understand that not every assignment needs to be an A+ effort if it means sacrificing your mental health) is valuable advice, especially when juggling multiple demanding classes. Allowing yourself to have downtime, pursuing hobbies, and spending time with friends helps maintain a healthy balance. These moments of true relaxation and mental breaks actually make your study sessions more effective because you return to them refreshed and focused. Remember, consistently maintaining good grades is a marathon, not a sprint. By incorporating these strategies, you'll not only improve your academic performance but also cultivate a more balanced and enjoyable school experience. You've got this!
