Why I Changed my Major

if you’re ever thinking about changing your major, remember that you can choose whatever you want. you can change it as many times as you want! maybe don’t wait as long to as i did haha, or change it too many times… but you still can. you always have options. and with Jesus, you can do anything! also remember that this is just my personal experience and i am not encouraging changing or not changing your major, just do what feel is right 🤍

... Read moreChanging your college major is a significant decision that many students face. The author's experience highlights an important aspect of this process: it's okay to reconsider your initial career goals based on life circumstances and personal growth. For instance, the decision to shift from a law enforcement path to marketing was influenced by the desire for a balanced family life and the realization that some career paths align better with personal priorities. Students often start college with a set vision, sometimes influenced by childhood dreams or societal expectations. However, as they progress and gain real-world experience, it's common to reassess these goals. According to educational counselors, changing majors can lead to better academic engagement and career satisfaction if done thoughtfully. The author also mentions the role of faith, specifically stating "with Jesus, you can do anything!" This reflects how personal beliefs can provide strength and guidance during challenging decisions. Many students find that integrating their values with career choices helps them find meaningful and fulfilling paths. Moreover, exploring different fields like marketing and photography opens new opportunities that students might not have previously considered. Marketing involves creativity, strategic thinking, and communication skills, which can appeal to those seeking dynamic careers. Photography, as a creative outlet and business opportunity, can complement marketing skills well. Ultimately, the key takeaway is that students have options and the freedom to change majors multiple times if needed, though it is wise to avoid excessive changes to prevent prolonging academic programs. Universities often provide academic advisors and career services to support students through these transitions. In conclusion, the process of changing your major is personal and can be influenced by many factors including relationships, lifestyle goals, interests, and faith. This story exemplifies how embracing change thoughtfully can lead to new passions and more fulfilling career directions.
