The Pink Plate Cafe Grand Opening 🍽️✨
So boom — I pulled up to the grand opening of The Pink Plate Café’s new location at 1525 Wadsworth Ave in Philly, and while everything wasn’t 100% perfect… it was still a vibe.
Let’s be real: it was HOT 🥵, it was PACKED, and baby — when Black people show up to support, we show OUT lol. The environment was a little chaotic (hello grand opening energy!) but the food? The food was good and had so much potential to shine even more in the right setting.
That’s why I’ve been in direct convo with the owner, and I’ll be going back to experience it all again — the right way — so I can really showcase what The Pink Plate is bringing to the city!
Everything isn’t always going to be perfect, especially when launching a brand-new restaurant location. But instead of dragging our Black-owned businesses, let’s give them a chance to adjust, grow, and flourish. That does not mean accept poor service or low standards — it just means allow folks the grace to fix what went wrong.
Y’all know my platform is built to amplify and support Black-owned spaces — and I want to continue highlighting the good, the great, and the room-for-improvement. Because when we know better, we do better. And The Pink Plate deserves that chance 🌸
