Leg day
From my own experience, dedicating a day to leg training can significantly enhance your overall fitness and athletic performance. Squats are a fundamental exercise during leg day as they engage multiple muscle groups, including the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. Starting with a proper warm-up is crucial to avoid injury and improve workout effectiveness. I usually begin with dynamic stretches and lighter sets of bodyweight squats to get my muscles activated. Incorporating variations of squats, such as front squats, goblet squats, or Bulgarian split squats, can target different leg muscles and prevent workout plateaus. Aim for 3 to 4 sets of 8 to 12 reps, using a weight that challenges you but maintains good form. Recovery after leg day is equally important. Foam rolling and stretching the leg muscles can reduce soreness and improve mobility, ensuring you're ready for the next workout session. Tracking progress by regularly increasing squat weight or repetitions helps in achieving continuous muscle growth and strength gains. Remember, consistency and proper technique are key components for effective leg day results.
