Baby’a first flight did not start well

Our one-year-old took his very first flight… and made sure nobody forgets it. ✈️😂

About halfway through the trip, he threw up directly into my wife’s purse.

Not on the seat.

Not on us.

The purse.

Honestly? Pretty impressive accuracy for a first-time flyer.

... Read moreTraveling with toddlers can be a memorable adventure filled with unpredictable moments, much like this baby’s first flight experience. From my own travels with young children, I’ve found that preparation is key, but sometimes the unexpected still happens—and it often makes the best stories later. Having essentials like wipes, a change of clothes, plastic bags, and a well-packed purse can save the day when messes occur mid-flight. One tip I’ve learned is to bring a waterproof bag or pouch inside your carry-on or purse, which can instantly contain any 'accidents' like spills or throw-ups. In this story, the baby’s remarkable accuracy—aiming right for the purse instead of seats or passengers—actually helped minimize cleanup hassle and avoided disturbing others. It’s a reminder to practice calm and keep a sense of humor. If you’re planning a first flight with your toddler, it helps to have snacks, toys, and distractions ready to keep them entertained. Also, try to fly during nap times to increase the chances of a smoother trip. Remember, parenting during travel is often 10% planning and 90% stories you'll be telling forever. Embrace the chaos as part of the journey and prepare to share your own travel tales someday!
