Tzatziki at home 🫒
Here is how I made it , all ingredients will be listed below 📝
~I had the 24oz container of Greek Godz plain traditional yogurt and I put about 75% of that in to a bowl.
~Then I took a little over half of my English cucumber and sliced it in half and scooped out the middle, then I use my cheese grater to grate my cucumber into a separate bowl. Then I squeezed as much of the water out of the cucumbers as I could before placing this in the bowl with the Greek yogurt.
~Now the next few items you should add as much or as little as you like ! I added about 3 freshly minced garlic clove, the zest from half a lemon, the juice from a whole lemon , about 1/4 of a cup of olive oil, 1/4 of a cup of red wine vinegar, about four individual large bushes of fresh dill chopped , two mint leaves finely chopped, and kosher salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste!
~Now the best part , mix everything together and enjoy! You can store your tzatziki sauce and a sealed container for up to 3 to 4 days in your fridge. 😊
~I don’t believe this is the authentic way of making Tzatziki so please be nice haha but this is how I enjoy mine. 🫶🏾

Tzatziki sauce, a classic Greek dip, is incredibly versatile and easy to make at home. Originating from Greece, it pairs perfectly with grilled meats, pita bread, or as a refreshing salad dressing. The core ingredients include Greek yogurt, which gives it a creamy texture, and cucumbers, providing a crunchy freshness. To prepare this flavorful dip, begin by using high-quality Greek yogurt—this is key to a thick and rich tzatziki. Freshly grated cucumber adds moisture and texture; remember to wring out excess water to prevent a watery sauce. Garlic lovers can adjust the amount of minced garlic based on their preference, as it contributes to the dip’s distinctive flavor. Herbs play a crucial role in elevating your tzatziki. Dill is traditional, but fresh mint can add a unique twist. Adding lemon juice and zest gives a bright, zesty flavor that balances the richness of the yogurt while red wine vinegar introduces a slight tanginess. For storing, keep your tzatziki in a sealed container in the fridge, where it can last for about 3 to 4 days—perfect for meal prep! Consider serving tzatziki with various dishes, including grilled fish, veggies, and even as a pasta sauce for a Mediterranean twist. Enjoy your homemade tzatziki as a staple that complements a variety of meals!
