Six Reasons Not To Be Scared Of Childbirth

If you’re pregnant and birth feels overwhelming, I just want you to know that you’re not alone.

As a second-time mom, I’m still nervous. But this time, I also know what waits on the other side.

Not perfection.

Not an easy recovery.

But a love so overwhelming that it makes every difficult moment worth it.

Take a deep breath. Trust your body. Trust your care team. Trust yourself.

You’ve got this, mama. 🤍

... Read moreFrom my own experiences as a second-time mom, I’ve learned that childbirth, while daunting, is a journey deeply connected to our body’s natural design and strength. Your body was literally made for this moment—even though labor isn’t always easy, each contraction serves a significant purpose in bringing your baby safely into the world. Understanding this connection helped me embrace the pain as progress rather than something to resist. Being scared is completely normal and doesn’t diminish your strength. In fact, courage isn’t the absence of fear, but the decision to face it one contraction at a time. When I was in labor with my first child, I felt overwhelmed yet determined. That mindset made all the difference. Labor duration may feel endless in the moment, but it’s just a brief chapter in the incredible story of meeting your baby. Looking back, it becomes a cherished memory rather than a source of anxiety. The moment you finally hold your newborn is transformative. It melts away all the fear and uncertainty, filling you with a love so powerful it redefines strength and endurance. Knowing this ahead of time helped me prepare mentally for the big day. Lastly, remember that you’ve already overcome tremendous challenges: carrying your baby for months, making sacrifices, planning, hoping, and loving someone you've never met. Labor is simply the culmination of that journey—the start of an extraordinary new chapter. If you’re feeling anxious, take a deep breath and trust your body, your care team, and yourself. You are more capable and resilient than you realize, and one day, you’ll look back proud of the strength you showed.
