To start, choose ripe avocados that are just firm to the touch. After cutting them in half, remove the pit and optionally mash the flesh with a splash of lemon or lime juice to prevent browning. Next, lay the avocado halves flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they’re not touching. This prevents them from clumping together while freezing. Once frozen solid, transfer them into ziplock bags, removing as much air as possible. This method makes it convenient to grab a half whenever you need it, whether for smoothies, salads, or spreads. Another great tip is to consider using the frozen avocado in dishes where it will be blended, such as guacamole or avocado toast. Even though the texture may change after freezing, the taste remains delightfully intact. Making these simple adjustments will ensure you never waste an avocado again!
