🫑Old School Stuffed Peppers🫑
Start with 4 bell peppers (I cut 2 in half = 4 halves).
In a big bowl, mix:
• 3 lbs ground beef
• 1 cup Minute Rice
• 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
• 2 eggs
• Ketchup, mustard & Worcestershire (measure with your heart ❤️)
• 1 chopped onion
• Garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper
Mix it all up 👏 then stuff your pepper halves.
With the extra meat, I rolled 3 big meatballs and tucked them in the pan too 🍖 (extra mix? Freeze it for next time!).
Season everything again on top.
Pour over 1 large can crushed tomatoes + 2 jars Ragu Six Cheese sauce.
Season again 💥.
Cover tightly with foil & bake at 385°F for 2 hours.
The peppers get soft, the filling is juicy, and the sauce is rich 👌
✨ I served it all over a big plate of linguine — total comfort food heaven 🍝 #stuffedpeppers #pasta #comfortfood #mukbang #homemade
Stuffed peppers have long been a beloved comfort food, combining the natural sweetness of bell peppers with a hearty, savory filling. This classic recipe stands out by using a flavorful blend of ground beef, Minute Rice, Italian breadcrumbs, and well-balanced seasonings including ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, which add a subtle tang and depth to the dish. One of the keys to achieving perfectly tender stuffed peppers is baking them covered with foil at 385°F for about two hours. This technique steams the peppers gently, allowing their flesh to soften without becoming mushy, while the filling stays juicy and moist. Incorporating crushed tomatoes along with a generous amount of Ragu Six Cheese sauce creates a rich, creamy sauce that complements the meaty filling beautifully. For an added twist and to reduce waste, extra filling can be shaped into meatballs and cooked alongside the stuffed peppers, or frozen for another meal, making this recipe practical as well as delicious. Serving the finished stuffed peppers over linguine turns the dish into a complete comforting meal, balancing the textures and flavors for a satisfying experience. This recipe is versatile and can be customized by swapping ground beef with other proteins like turkey or plant-based alternatives. Likewise, the sauce can be adjusted by using homemade tomato sauce or different cheese blends based on personal taste. Whether you are cooking for a family dinner or meal prepping, these old school stuffed peppers offer a hearty, nostalgic meal option that’s sure to please and provide nourishing comfort.
