Day 71 of starting solids 👶🏼🥣! Today we tried a recipe that I saw online that didn’t really work out, but he still ate it and I think he really liked it 😋! I’m trying to incorporate as much protein in his meals as I can because I know babies begin to lose that iron quickly and I wanna make sure that he’s getting full meals that include veggies and protein and some fruit 😋🍓🥑🥣! Have you found any recipes online that have worked for you and your baby? 👶🏼🥣

Starting solids is an exciting milestone for both babies and parents, and ensuring your little one receives adequate nutrition during this phase is crucial. Based on my experience around Day 71 of starting solids, focusing on meals rich in protein and iron is vital to support healthy growth and prevent nutrient deficiencies. Babies at this age often begin to deplete their iron stores, so prioritizing iron-enhancing foods alongside vegetables and fruits benefits overall development. In addition to homemade recipes, consider including iron-rich options like pureed meats (chicken, beef, or turkey), lentils, and fortified cereals. Combining these with vitamin C-rich fruits like strawberries, kiwis, or citrus can boost iron absorption. For example, a simple puree recipe with spinach, sweet potato, and a touch of mashed chicken can be both nutritious and tasty for your baby. It's common to try recipes found online that may not turn out as expected, but persistence is key. Keep experimenting with different textures and flavors to find what your baby enjoys. Also, baby-led weaning encourages self-feeding and exploring food shapes, which can be a fun way to introduce protein sources like small pieces of avocado or cooked legumes. Don’t forget to monitor your baby’s reactions and consult your pediatrician if you have any concerns about allergies or nutritional intake. Sharing your experiences with other parents using hashtags like #startingsolids and #babyledweaning can provide a helpful exchange of ideas and support. Remember, every baby is unique, so patience and creativity will make the weaning journey enjoyable and nourishing for your child.
