Personally, I’ve found that integrating resistance exercises into my weekly routine, especially through programs like F45 Training, significantly enhanced my overall fitness. The key benefit of functional fitness is that it mimics movements we perform daily, such as lifting, squatting, and pushing, which leads to improved balance and injury prevention. When I started focusing on resistance training during my Functional Fridays, I noticed that not only did my muscle tone improve, but my stamina during other physical activities increased as well. F45 Training's blend of high-intensity interval training and functional movements made workouts engaging and sufficiently challenging, helping me progress consistently. Choosing the right resistance level is crucial. Too little weight might not stimulate muscle growth effectively, while too much can compromise form and increase injury risk. I recommend starting with manageable weights and gradually increasing resistance as you gain strength. The community at F45 Capitol Hill also provides great support and motivation, which can make a big difference on days when your energy dips. Try to incorporate a variety of exercises targeting different muscle groups—this ensures balanced development and functional capability. Tracking your progress each week helped me stay committed and motivated. Most importantly, functional training isn't limited to the gym setting; the skills and strength you acquire translate well into everyday activities, making daily tasks easier and reducing fatigue.
