this how I knew 😢

... Read moreIf you own a Samsung Android phone, you might have noticed a unique purple file folder icon showing up when you miss a call. This can be confusing if you don’t understand its origin. Essentially, Samsung’s Secure Folder is a privacy feature that creates a separate, encrypted area on your device to run duplicate versions of apps, including communication apps like WhatsApp, Google Meet, or even the Phone app. What I found interesting is that this Secure Folder hides these apps and their activity from the main interface. So, when someone calls you through one of these hidden apps, the phone doesn’t just show the regular missed call notification; instead, it uses a special purple file folder icon to alert you. This subtle difference keeps your sensitive communications private by not revealing caller details on your default notification panel. From my experience, this feature is excellent for keeping work and personal contacts separate or securing confidential conversations without mixing them with everyday notifications. However, it can also lead to confusion if you’re unaware of the Secure Folder’s functionality. At first, I thought the missed call was from an unknown number because there was no caller ID visible, but realizing it was linked to the Secure Folder helped me manage my notifications better. If you want to check this for yourself, open Samsung’s Secure Folder and look for communication apps inside. You might find duplicate contacts or messages that don’t sync with your main apps. This can explain why some calls or messages appear differently. This feature, while privacy-focused, requires a bit of learning but ultimately provides peace of mind when securing your private communications on the same device.
